Habit Burger Grill Opens Today in West Miami-Dade

Habit Burger Grill opens its doors for the first time today at its new Miami location, 9971 W. Flagler St. 

This marks the burger chain's first Miami-Dade restaurant. The 3,000-square-foot space has room for more than 100 diners and offers indoor and outdoor patio seating.

The California-based chain debuted in Florida this past July with a Delray Beach location. 

The menu is expected to be nearly identical to those at other Habit Burger locations. The fast-casual concept is famous for its Charburger, which was named the best-tasting burger in the nation out of 65 burger chains, according to Consumer Reports. The meat in Habit's burgers is chargrilled over an open flame to enhance flavor. They're never frozen and always made fresh-to-order.  

Get an original Charburger, with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and caramelized onions, or try one of the specialties. The Mushroom Char adds sautéed mushrooms and melted white American cheese; the Teriyaki Charburger has grilled pineapple; and the Santa Barbara Style layers cheese and avocado on grilled sourdough. You can make any Char a double and add bacon too. 

There's more to the menu if beef patties aren't your thing. Order a veggie burger, a chicken sandwich, or a tuna fillet, and add a few of your favorite toppings. There are salads too. Ask for ranch dressing on the side because it's prepared fresh, in-house every day. 

And don't forget about the sides. Add french fries, onion rings, sweet-potato fries, or tempura green beans, which are all trans-fat-free and cooked in soybean oil.

The first Habit Burger Grill opened in Santa Barbara, California, in 1969. The chain has grown to include more than 120 restaurants in 12 markets throughout California, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, and Utah.  

A Royal Palm Beach location is planned to open later this year.

Habit Burger Grill is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
