"Producer Armando Christian Perez." It rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it? Nah, we'll stick to "Pitbull."
Fox has bought the rights to a Miami-based drama series titled 305 and decided there's nobody better to help produce the project than Mr. 305 himself. Fox has chosen Sascha Penn (Survivor’s Remorse) as head writer for the show and Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) as director.
The preliminary plot for 305 has a very The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air/The O.C. feel to it. The show will be based on a high-school kid named Willy who is pulled from his usual surroundings and sent to live with his uncle, a celebrity chef, and attend the wealthiest private school in Miami. The Mo' Money Mo Problems theme plans to take viewers on a weekly journey inside Willy's struggles to assimilate to a new, wealthy way of life.
The project only deepens what has been a fruitful relationship between Mr. Worldwide and the network giant. Pitbull most recently hosted and produced the Fox New Year’s special live from Miami and is also set to appear on the second season of Fox’s hit drama Empire. In addition, Pitbull has recently shored up his television cred on other networks: He hosted the AMAs and made a guest appearance on Dancing With the Stars.
Fox has yet to announce an air date for 305, but we wait with eager anticipation for its debut. In the meantime, we'll speculate about which actor will be cast as Willy.
