It's Monday, and you're probably in need of a pick-me-up. How about making your own gin and tonic while nibbling on some bar bites at Finka Table & Tap?

This week, take your pick of the many dinner specials happening around town. Tuesday night, head to Lure Fishbar to celebrate National Bourbon Month with a six-course food and drink menu or hang out with Top Chef alum Dale Talde at the Thompson Miami Beach for a sneak peek of Talde, his resto opening in November. If you can't catch him Tuesday, Talde will be at Books & Books in Coral Gables Wednesday night for a free book signing. M.I.A. Brewing will take over Michael Mina 74 with a five-course beer dinner Wednesday night too. And start the weekend early at Lucali with a $19 dinner.

Monday

DIY Gin and Tonic at Finka Table & Tap
Ever wonder what goes into making your favorite drink? The folks at Finka want to teach you. From 8 to 10 p.m., head to the eatery and create your own gin and tonic. Experiment with two expressions of Martin Miller’s Gin, a variety of tonics, and various aromatics, all while nibbling some bar bites. Tickets cost $35 per person and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.

Tuesday

Bourbon Dinner at Lure Fishbar
Celebrate National Bourbon Month with a pairing dinner at Lure Fishbar. The seafood hotspot partnered with Old Forester Bourbon for the one-night-only dinner. Crafted by executive chef John Iatrellis, dishes will likely include lobster-stuffed squash blossoms with grilled pomelo, ricotta, and bourbon-lavender honey, and bourbon-glazed black grouper with oyster mushrooms, kale, and forbidden rice. All will be accompanied with hand-selected Old Forester bourbons. Dinner begins at 7 p.m., and tickets cost $95 per person. For reservations, call 305-695-4550 or email [email protected].

Talde Pop-Up at
Thompson Miami Beach
In honor of Dale Talde's new cookbook, Asian-American: Proudly Inauthentic Recipes From the Philippines to Brooklyn, the Top Chef alum will host a pop-up dinner at 7:30 p.m. at the Thompson Miami Beach’s 1930s House. Sample a few of the chef's favorite dishes before the opening of his restaurant Talde, also at the Thompson, in November. Tickets cost $55 per person and include four courses, a bottle of Brooklyn Sorachi Ace beer from Brooklyn Brewery, and a copy of his cookbook. Seating is limited to 40 guests. Reserve your spot via taldemb-popup.splashthat.com.

Wednesday

Dale Talde Book Chat at Books & Books in Coral Gables
Dale Talde's new cookbook, Asian-American: Proudly Inauthentic Recipes From the Philippines to Brooklyn, hits stands September 15. At 8 p.m., foodies and book lovers can meet the man himself at an intimate book signing. Expect conversation about stories from his cookbook, his influences, what to expect at his upcoming restaurant, and of course, some Top Chef gossip. New Times food and spirits reporter Laine Doss will moderate the evening. The event is free and open to the public.

M.I.A. Brewing Tap Takeover and Beer Dinner at Michael Mina 74
Michael Demetrus, M.I.A.'s brewmaster, will join chef Thomas Griese for a special five-course beer dinner beginning at 8:30 p.m. Indulge in jerked Caribbean quail and foie gras with saffron-infused mango; lobster pasta with garden squash ribbons; coffee-rubbed prime skirt steak churrasco with passionfruit brown-butter; and a double-chocolate raspberry torte to finish. Reservations are required. Tickets cost $85 per person and can be purchased here.

Thursday
