Friday:
- 9 to 5 at The Wolfsonian-FIU: Grab the gals and join us for the hilarious finale of our Ladies Leading film series! Nine to Five features not one, but three incredible female characters—played by Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton—who will stop at nothing to get even with their sexist, egotistical bigot of a boss.
- Amtrac at Basement: He’s not technically a local, but as far as Miami’s nightlife is concerned, he might as well be. He spends most of his days at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, but he’s spent the past five years being managed by Miami's own Super Music Group.
- FP: Festival/Dressing Down the Movies: Nat Chediak on Fashion at Fashion Project at Bal Harbour Shops: Showcasing twenty-four classic films from 1929 through 1994 and explores the rich intersection of fashion and film.
- Maayan Nidam at Electric Pickle: Even her ostensibly electronic production projects divulge a love for traditional live music forms, much like 2009's Nightlong LP, inspired by and built around samples of Cuban folk music.
- Sahar Z at Do Not Sit on the Furniture: Not limited by any genre or style, Sahar Z’s influences come from many directions which give him his unique sound that transports the crowd through a journey of atmospheres and moods from deeply melodic sounds and fresh electronica to the harder yet soulful techno edges. Today he's one of the owners/DJs of the most famous underground club in Tel Aviv, the Cat & Dog.
- Seven Lions at Grand Central: Explore the mystical wonder of Jeff Montalvo as the DJ-producer brings his "masterful, intricate, and imaginative compositions" to the Magic City.
- Donavon Frankenreiter at Culture Room: While traveling the world as a professional surfer, Frankenreiter met fellow wave rider and musician Jack Johnson through Johnson’s parents, who rented him a room in Oahu, Hawaii. The two became fast friends, and in 2002, he signed a deal with Johnson’s Brushfire Records and released a self-titled solo album featuring Johnson and G.
- SAFE's 8th Birthday Party at Electric Pickle: Since launching in 2006, these trailblazing tastemakers have introduced Miami to many of electronic dance music's great iconoclastic luminaries, including DJ Sprinkles, Optimo, Ben UFO, Martyn, and Joy Orbison. Put simply, SAFE parties are more than mere dance floor hedonism — they offer a musical education.
- Sunday Gourmet Brunch at Mandarin Oriental Hotel: The brunch will feature a lavish menu, Pommery champagne, and jazz music. The menu includes a made-to-order omelet and egg station, carving station, sushi, fresh salads, exotic fresh fruit, bakery items, a selection of pastries by Pastry Chef Frederic Monnet, and a fresh seafood presentation including shrimp cocktail and stone crab claws.
- Double Stubble Sunday T-Dance at Gramps: It's a welcome new hipster piece to gay Miami's party puzzle. The last Sunday afternoon of every month, there's no need to keep your sexuality subtle. The disco beats of DJ Hottpants will surely make everyone shuffle or do the hustle.
