When Liberty Caffe opened up at the Coral Gables Country Club, it turned a beautiful space with arched windows, meant for only club menbers' eyes into a fetching little bistro that welcomed all. The bright, airy little cafe brought an air of elegance to lunchtime in its space that features arched windows and Moorish lighting fixtures.

Now, the cafe turns five today, and is celebrating in the sweetest way possible — with free gelato for all.

Today, May 18, from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., stop in to Liberty Caffe and enjoy a free small gelato on the house (a $3.50 value).

The gelato is freshly made in-house and comes in an ever-rotating display of flavors, with at least 18 offered on any given day. In addition to time-tested favorites like chocolate and strawberry, Liberty Caffe features tiramisu, dulce de leche, biscotti, mango, and coconut, to name a few. The gelato, by the way, is always half-priced on Tuesdays.

No purchase is necessary, but why not make an entire lunch of it. Liberty Caffe features thin crust stone oven baked pizzas, starting at $9 for a Margherita and pressed paninis. A A foccacia chicken club ($8)  features a chicken breast topped with provolone, pancetta, lettuce and tomato in between fluffy foccacia. Salads include a Romaine Cobb ($7.50) and an arugula and mushroom ($7).

Liberty Caffe is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
