Miami is filled with restaurants serving pork-centric dishes and bars mixing potent cocktails. But even a life of excess needs balance sometimes.

That's probably why Miami's juicing and cleansing businesses are growing by leaps and bounds. And even with new juice bars popping up, like the newly opened Jucy Lu and Guarapo in Wynwood, Jugofresh still leads the charge of offering healthy, cold-pressed juices and vegan foods.

The company, helmed by founder and CEO Matthew Sherman, is poised to corner Miami's juice market with the announcement of more locations.
Jugofresh has announced the imminent opening of its sixth location, just at the cusp of the company's third anniversary on April 20. The Coral Gables Jugofresh, located at 2516 Ponce de Leon Blvd., will be the sixth Jugofresh to open, including the location inside Whole Foods Market in downtown Miami.

The Gables location will be the catalyst for another growth spurt, with a Jugofresh at 14871 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach, opening shortly after. The company has also secured a lease on a property in the MiMo District, at 7501 Biscayne Blvd., with the shop scheduled to open in winter 2016.

The new 975-square-foot Gables location will come equipped with cafe seating and Wi-Fi in a bright space with wallpaper from Flavor Paper. The shop will carry Jugofresh's complete line of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, shots, drty mylks, and grab-and-go foods, as well as a special signature item that's still in development. Jugofresh's Sherman tells New Times that he chose this location to service harried business people who need a little daily boost. "When you are at work, and so many people work around this location, you need fuel for your brain. I want increased productivity for all of our customers. We want everyone to feel their best and get the most out of their day, and Jugofresh has all the nutritional tools for that.”
Realizing that many Miamians still like to chew their calories at least some of the time, Jugofresh has also upped their food game. The company has introduced a new food menu for spring that includes a BLT (Be, Laugh, Trust) that uses coconut jerky in place of bacon ($8); a black sea salad with massaged kale, lime, sunflower sprouts, red pepper, kalamata olives, sun-dried tomato cracker, and a cashew-based cheese ($13); spicy pepitas ($6); pitaya leathers made with dragon fruit and banana ($5); and a cinnamon buckwheat cereal ($9.50).
In addition, a burger and fries (of sort) will be introduced on April 27. The burgerlacha and fries ($12.50) is a beet burger, served with flax meal-dusted zucchini fries with a cashew chimichurri and raw ketchup. That sounds like it should satisfy vegans who miss a Happy Meal every once in a while.
