This weekend is a multimedia extravaganza of entertainment, with something for just about everyone.

Do you miss Carrie Bradshaw and the Sex and the City girls? Why not make a date to have cosmopolitans with them!

Nose always stuck in a book? There's an entire weekend of activities for you.

And if your tastes run to simpler pleasures -- like maybe a good beer and a hunk of meat -- there are two killer events for you.

Since this weekend might be the last for a little "me" time before your life is consumed by shopping, office parties, and family visits -- seize the day while you've got a chance!

Happy Hour and Cult Movie Night at Pinecrest Gardens

It's Friday evening and you've had a long week. That means it's time to get together with the girls, sip some cosmos, and take in a movie. And by girls, we mean Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte. At Pinecrest Gardens, enjoy a cosmopolitan-inspired happy-hour tonight, November 22, at 6:30, followed by a showing of the movie Sex and the City under the stars at 8 p.m. It's probably been years since you drank cosmos and munched on popcorn (which was our steady diet for three years in a row, come to think of it), and you're about to fix that. Admission is $5; cocktails and popcorn will be available à la carte.

South Florida BrewFest at FIU

When you went to college, we bet you didn't major in beer (frat parties don't count). But Florida International University is pretty serious about its brewing classes. This Saturday, November 23, from noon to 5 p.m., FIU's Kovens Conference Center at the Biscayne Bay Campus will host South Florida BrewFest, a celebration of beer, where you can sample local favorites from Funky Buddha, MIA Brewing, Sexy Llama, and others. Tickets cost $40 in advance and $50 at the door, but take 50 percent off today only with this special "friends and family" code. Just visit sflbrewfest.com and click "buy now." Choose ticket option "day of the event" and use code Brewfest 50. Cheers!

Miami Book Fair International

What does a book fair have to do with food? Apparently, everything. After all, besides a good bottle of bourbon and a rasher of bacon, the only other things you would need if stranded on a deserted island are a few good books (you know, because iPads and Kindles don't work when the battery dies). Celebrating its 30th year, Miami Book Fair International at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus, kicks into high gear this weekend, with an entire roster of your favorite chefs conducting demos, participating in panels, and signing their tomes. Norman Van Aken, Ingrid Hoffmann, and Brian Boitano are some of the chef/authors to look out for. Admission to the fair is $8; cooking demos cost $15 each. Buy tickets in advance at miamibookfair.com.

P.I.G. 4

Oh, pork, how we love to find ways to savor your flesh. So this Sunday, November 24, Gastropod chef Jeremiah Bullfrog and a host of Miami's top toques will take part in celebrating all things pig at P.I.G. 4. GAB Studios will transform into the piggiest place on the planet when Bullfrog joins friends Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House, Conor Hanlon of the Dutch, Aaron Brooks of Edge Steak & Bar, Brad Kilgore of J&G Grill, and Antonio Bachour of the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in celebrating all things pork. The feast begins at 3 p.m. for VIP ticketholders ($50) and at 7 p.m. for everyone else. Purchase tickets at chefjeremiah.com.
