Ever since Burger King dethroned their totally-creepy mascot, we've been wondering what's the next move for the Miami-based fast-food giant. Here's a, like, totally rad hint at the totally cool sandwich that BK is featuring, starting Monday -- the California Whopper.
According to an article in USA Today, the commercial launch of the California Whopper as campaign and sandwich might be Burger King's entry into the healthier food market.
Short Order did a little research and found that the California Whopper, made with guacamole, Swiss cheese and bacon, is neither new nor healthy.
While the California Whopper may be new to your friendly neighborhood
Burger King on the corner, the sandwich has long been on Whopper Bar menus.
And if you're looking for a healthy adventure in eating, a trip to the
"Golden State" might not be your best option. As stated on Burger King's
the California Whopper has 800 calories (510 calories from fat), 56
grams of fat (18 grams of saturated fat), and 1,400 milligrams of
sodium.
Plus, it looks like the United States is late to the game, even in the
mass-market arena, by the looks of this completely weird German
commercial for the Cali Whopper we found. We never thought anything would make us want the creepy King back ... until this:
