Named Best Restaurant in South-Dade by Miami New Times in our annual Best of list, Devon Seafood + Steak is launching a monthly tasting series on the restaurant's outdoor patio, starting tonight.

Devon will kick-off their Rum Running & Cigar Rolling series from 7 to 9 p.m. For just $45 per person -- excluding tax and gratuity -- guests can enjoy a high-end selection of rums paired with passed hors d'oeuvres, crafted by executive chef Scott Barrow. And what goes perfectly with rum, besides some Hunter S. Thompson? Cigars.
Cigar aficionados will delight in the authentic hand-rolled cigars expertly rolled by an onsite cigar roller. Kendall just got un poquito mas cubano.
Rum selections include Vizcaya VXOP (Dominican Republic), Cruzan Single Barrel (St. Croix), Zaya aged 12 years (Trinidad), Appleton Estate aged 12 years (Jamaica), and just in case you don't like the Caribbean, there's Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva (Venezuela).
The event tonight marks the beginning of a monthly tasting series at Devon, where once a month, and for a prix-fixe price, the restaurant will host themed events showcasing a variety of menu offerings and unique pairings. That sure tops Chili's 2-4-1 frozen margaritas and chips.
