Miami New Times has partnered with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring you the the Iron Fork/Miami Spice Kickoff, presented by the Miami Downtown Development Authority.

The event will be held Thursday, August 1 at the Adrienne Arsht Center For The Performing Arts and you want to be there to taste fantastic food presented by Miami Spice participating restaurants, enjoy live music, and watch the ever-popular chef battle.

This year, Tongue & Cheek's Jamie DeRosa takes on Eating House's Giorgio Rapicavoli in a duel to the death. With a host of pantry items, and one mystery ingredient, each chef will be asked to create a meal on stage -- with only one contestant earning the title of Iron Fork champion 2013.

Short Order has a pair of general admission tickets to give away to Iron Fork and one lucky reader gets to snag them!

To win tickets, just post a comment telling us the absolute best meal you've ever had in Miami -- and where (and why). Be sure to sign in with a valid email or Twitter account so we can contact you if you win. We'll pick a winner Monday at 5 p.m. and announce it Tuesday morning.

Updated: Congratulations to nihusa. You won the pair of tickets to Iron Fork by showing us your versatility. Look for an email with details on how to claim your tickets.

In the meantime, you should take advantage of early bird pricing to the event:

Tickets are $35 for general admission; $65 for VIP until July 1. VIP admission, by the way, includes an extra hour of partying, and entry into the special VIP area where you can indulge in fine wines of Chile, Bacardi cocktails, and Stella Artois.

On July 1, ticket prices rise to $40 for general admission and $75 for VIP. Don't procrastinate because the day of the event, GA tickets will cost $55 and VIP (if still available) will be $90.
