Miami and its residents have a reputation as trendsetters. In the Dolphins' win over the Seahawks Sunday, one trend that started at Sun Life Stadium was on display.
"When the Dolphins approached us to partner with their Legends Suite, we created something that was truly one-of-a-kind," said Brenda Bassett, president of Cefalo's International. "Now this concept is being duplicated all over the NFL."
Partnering with Jimmy Cefalo, the voice of the Miami Dolphins, the team began offering a different restaurant with world-class cuisine every week. Legendary South Florida names such as Joe's Stone Crab, Perricone's, Turnberry Isle, Ana Capri Italian Market and Restaurant, Shula's Steakhouse, Ziggie and Maddog's and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel have been featured. Soo-Woo Japanese & Korean Steakhouse along with Johnson and Wales University will combine to show off their delectable delicacies next week during the game against the New England Patriots. Casa Dragones will also being doing a tequila tasting Dec. 15. For Sunday's win over the Seahawks, the Dolphins' third of five home games so far this season, the celebrated cuisine of world-renowned Miami chef Allen Susser was served courtesy of Slainte Irish Pub of Boynton Beach.

"We look forward to our work with the Dolphins and the NFL and have a lot of fun with it," Susser said. "For today, we featured Irish pub selections from Slainte's like organic barley salad and shepherd's pie."
Susser is known for coining "Floribbean" cuisine -- local Florida ingredients prepared with influences from the Caribbean and Latin America. The longtime Dolphins fan has been working with the NFL for 20 years on the "Taste of the NFL," which takes place the night before the Super Bowl. The event raised a half-million dollars for charity last year and looks to raise even more this year in New Orleans.
Along with the Irish selections this past Sunday, U.S. Wine Ambassador Cefalo offered paired sparkling wines from Martini and still wines from Dreyfus-Ashby. Cefalo hosts a weekly show about food and wine called Eat This Drink That Go! from 9 to 10 a.m. on 610 WIOD AM, 100.3FM and IHeartRadio Saturday. The show, which highlights wines, is looking to expand for the home cook and will focus on the farm-to-table concept in the future.
Across the way in another suite, the Dolphins partnered with Paul Castronovo of The Paul & Young Ron Show to offer Castronovo Vineyards wines and selections from Fort Lauderdale eatery Anthony's Runway 84.
Castronovo's radio show seeks to "capture the pulse of what's going on in South Florida" with several upcoming events. "Comedy for a Cause" will take place at the Miami Improv December 7 and will benefit Feeding South Florida. On December 16, the "Tailgate Party" will bring Man v. Food star Adam Goldman to South Florida one day after the "Meatballs and Martinis" fundraiser at Anthony's Runway 84.
