It seems that just more than a year after Bradley Kilgore was named chef de cuisine at J&G Grill at the St. Regis Bal Harbour, the chef is leaving the building.

Miami.com reported Kilgore would leave to open his own restaurant. Though details are murky, the chef's departure was, indeed, confirmed by one of Kilgore's colleagues.

Kilgore rose to Miami culinary fame at Azul at the Mandarin Oriental and then partnered for a short time with Jeremy Goldberg at Exit 1 and Route 9 before heading to J&G Grill.

As for the fate of J&G Grill, Miami.com reported the restaurant is in jeopardy, with a source telling the site: "They're doing a search around the country to find a new operator. It's already in the works, and they will keep J&G until a new person has a permit in hand, so realistically we're talking about seven months." A look on Jean-Georges Management's website shows no restaurants listed in Miami.

Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is planning to open two new restaurants at the Miami Beach Edition, located at 2901 Collins Ave. Both restaurants are slated to open in November.

The Matador Room will be a signature farm-to-table restaurant by Jean-Georges with "influences from Spain and South America with a local sense of place."

Market will be Jean-Georges' "interpretation of a modern, gourmet three-meal-period marketplace restaurant."
