Burger 21 is a new "fast casual" concept brought to you by the folks behind a rather old concept, The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc. The idea behind this particular burger emporium is to offer 21 "chef-inspired" creations culled from freshly ground beef, chicken, turkey, shrimp, and tuna -- with creative, hand-crafted toppings. The stores also sell Hebrew National hot dogs and hand-dipped shakes. There are two locations currently operating in Tampa, and two more in development.

Interested in owning a Burger 21 of your own? An executive roundtable for prospective franchisees is being held tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. at The Grill on the Alley in Aventura. If you can't make it, another roundtable occurs the next day from noon to 2 p.m. at Seasons 52 in Boca Raton.

What you will need:

A net worth of $500,000 and liquid assets of at least $200,000 per unit. The total cost of investment for one franchise is estimated by the company to be "approximately $513,495 to $733,995." The initial franchise fee is $40,000. There is, however, a 20 percent discount applied to all franchises sold by June 21, 2012. And if you call now, you'll also get a free set of ginsu knives!

Just kidding about the knives, but serious candidates interested in the complimentary lunch and roundtable should contact Dan Stone, vice president of franchise development for Front Burner Brands, at dstone@frontburnerbrands or can call him at 727-452-0178.

You can contact Stone at any time, but for the roundtable you'll have to move fast -- as we've said, these gatherings take place tomorrow and Thursday -- but moving fast is what one has to do to succeed in business. Or at least that's what I'm told.
