Miami-Dade Police announced today that they arrested 58 people during the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in downtown Miami this weekend. Yep, just 58 out of the estimated 150,000 plus who attended. The exact breakdown of the arrests wasn't immediately available, but police say drug arrests were minimal.
According to NBC Miami, the majority of the arrests were for narcotics, disorderly conduct, and people who tried to get in without tickets. Again though police say those drug arrests were minimal.
That's down from the 71 arrests that were made last year when Ultra was just a one weekend fest. Police arrested 45 people on drug charges alone that weekend.
Miami Beach commissioner Marc Sarnoff made headlines by trying to derail Ultra's second weekend over concerns of crime, and ultimately Ultra agreed to pay $500,000 to the city for extra police and fire services.
