Butt Dial Accidentally Breaks Up Meth Ring

This past Saturday, Donna Knope, 55, Jason Knope, 32, and Thomas Stallings, 41, were sitting around a Volusia County home talking about all things meth. Except apparently one of the three accidentally butt-dialed 911 during the discussion. A 911 operator answered and instead of hearing details of an emergency, overhead people talkin' 'bout meth.

Police were able to determine the trio's location and arrived to find them cooking a batch of meth. They were arrested.

Man Tries to Use 911 as Taxi Service

That last tale involved an accidental call to 911, but Jonathan Ray, 34, of Vero Beach, knew exactly what number he was dialing. In late August, Ray initially came into contact with police at a gas station and told them he had been robbed. Police quickly determined Ray had in fact not been robbed and was just trying to get a ride back home.

Sure enough, a few hours later, Ray called 911 to report he was "messed up" and needed a ride to his home. The dispatcher told him to call 411 to get the number of a taxi service, but then Ray called back to report that a gas station owner tried to beat him up. Police arrived again, only to find Ray was in fact not beaten up. He explained that no taxi would pick him up. Amazingly, police let him off again, and it wasn't until he called 911 asking for a taxi again that he was arrested.

A Bathroom Beer Is a Free Beer, Right?

Granted, most people wouldn't want to buy a beer someone else has taken into a bathroom, but understandably, most stores do not have a policy that any beer taken into the bathroom is free.

Randy Colby, 51, learned that fact the hard way. He had been spotted early this past Sunday peeing in front of a CVS. Police didn't charge him with anything at the time, but later that day, Colby once again was reported to be drunk at the CVS. He allegedly drank unpaid beers in the store's bathroom.

Man Files False Police Report to Hide That Prostitute Stole From Him

So Adam Pulse, 20, of Bradenton, hired a prostitute while he was supposed to be at work, and she ended up stealing his wallet and phone. To report the robbery but also hide the fact he had hired a prostitute, he made up an elaborate story about how a woman had flagged him down on the side of the highway and her husband pulled a gun and stole his wallet.

But police checked the videotape and discovered Pulse was at work when he was supposedly robbed. He had parked his car, left his wallet and phone in the center console, spent just ten minutes with the woman out of the surveillance camera's view, and returned to find his wallet and phone gone.

When confronted, police say, Pulse admitted he made up the story so his girlfriend wouldn't find out. Not only did his girlfriend surely find out when he was charged with filing a false police report, but now everyone knows he lasts less than ten minutes.
