Whenever the Dolphins say they're making a "major announcement," we get a little nervous and have chills thinking back to the LandShark Stadium debacle. This one probably won't affect Miami fans that much, though.

Tomorrow, Dolphins CEO Mike Dee -- along with former Fins players Nat Moore and Twan Russell -- is headed to Estero Community Park in Lee County to make a "major announcement involving the west coast of Florida communities."

Our guess is Dee will make some sort of move to officially claim Southwest Florida as Dolphins territory.

LandShark Stadium is only about two and a quarter hours from Estero, but according to Google Maps, the Bucs' Raymond James Stadium is only about a seven-minute car ride farther.

Dee had a house in Lee County when he was COO of the Red Sox. The team spends spring training in the city of Palms Park in Fort Myers, and Dee negotiated a deal to keep the Sox in the area for the next 30 years in exchange for new facilities. No surprise he still has strong ties there.
