A Boynton Beach family is recovering today after an elder daughter doused them in scalding oil.

Dureno Saint Fort came home to his girlfriend and their 17-month-old daughter on Monday night. After greeting his girlfriend's 20-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, he retired to his bedroom to relax with his girlfriend and the toddler. The family then heard noise in the kitchen and assumed the older daughter was cooking herself dinner.

The daughter, Flore Saint Gerard, was actually cooking up a pot of scalding hot cooking oil, and rushed into the bedroom and threw the hot oil on the family.

According to WPTV, Saint Fort suffered burns on 30 percent of his body, including to his head and upper body. He's still recovering in the hospital, and will remain there for at least a week.

The mother and toddler also received burns to their face and upper body, but thankfully the wounds were not as severe. They were treated at a hospital and released on Monday.

The attack seemed to be directed at Saint Fort.

After the incident, Saint Gerard went into her room and locked the door.

When police arrived they found her sitting calmly on the family's living room coach. She didn't say a word. Saint Ford says she had been having behavioral problems lately.

Saint Gerard remains in jail in lieu of a $9,000 bond.
