Last week New Times ran a story on the 14-second fall of Kimbo Slice and the death of EliteXC, entitled "MMA's Post-Kimbo Limbo" written by Bob Norman. The same piece ran in Norman's home paper, The Broward Palm Beach New Times, with the title "Kimbo Slice's a sissy: The fight that wasn't threatens to ruin a sport that isn't," along with the accompanying cover.

The 6'2, 236 lb Slice is none to happy with our Broward brethren, and wants to go mano-a-mano with Norman as a result.

"I gotta confront this guy. I want to see what his angle was. Why would he do that, why would he disrespect me like that? ... I think he needs to be slapped in his mouth. There's one thing you can't call me and that's a sissy," Slice told radio host Dan Le Batard during his first post-knock out interview yesterday on 790 The Ticket.

Norman responds over at The Daily Pulp that he didn't write the headline, nor create the graphic and is totally prepared to meet with Slice ...if the entire New Times staff is behind him.

But seriously Slice, any regular New Times reader knows that our opinion of mixed martial arts is that it's not exactly the most heteronormative of sports.
