There's some hubbub over whether the NBA should schedule so many games on Christmas day. The Miami Heat's match-up versus the Los Angeles Lakers will undoubtedly be the most talked about sporting even of the holiday, but LeBron James himself says he'd rather be spending Christmas at home (in his new house?) with his kids. Though, he won't be a total grinch. He's debuting brand new kicks.
"If you ask any player in the league, we'd rather be home with our families," James told the AP. "I think the people that even set the games up would rather be home with their family during this day. It's not just a regular holiday. It's definitely one of those days that you wish you could wake up in the morning with the kids and open up presents."
The NBA has scheduled a record five games for the Holiday. Maybe, in another sign that the Holiday is becoming over-commercialized, it brings all sorts of marketing cheer.
LeBron and Lakers foe Kobe Bryant will both be debuting special new colorways of their signature Nike sneakers on the 25th.
Here's the "Red on Run" colorway of the LeBron 8 V.2 shoe. Uh, yeah, we still kind of prefer the special South Beach colors.
Here's the Kobe VI in "Grinch" colors which look, um, interesting to say the least.
Yes, we are aware this is far from the biggest foot-related sports story of the week, because "LOL" Rex Ryan's entire life.
