Leisure City K-8 Center, an elementary and middle school in Homestead, is on lockdown after a police chase ended nearby and a group of suspects ran into the school to escape police. Details on the situation are foggy at the moment, but police have set up a perimeter around the school.


The school, located at 14950 Southwest 288th Street, was placed on lockdown at about 10:30 a.m.

Police have not released exactly how many suspects they believe to be inside, nor what caused the police chase to begin with.
