On yesterday's Dan LeBatard show on 790 The Ticket, sometime New Times strip club expert Disco Rick provided intimate details about Rick Ross' infamous birthday party earlier this month at King Of Diamonds. Using the tenacious reporting chops that helped him break the University of Miami Pell grant scandal in the early 1990s, LeBatard gets to the bottom of the audacious tale that Ross, P. Diddy, Pharrell Williams, and their rapper and NFL athlete friends made one million dollars rain on the K.O.D.'s stripper harem.
Not only did Rick confirm one million dollars were thrown on the floor, but that a Brink's truck rolled in at 4 o'clock in the morning to bring even more cash. "It was crazy," Rick told LeBatard. "I have never seen anything like it."
Here is a partial transcript of the interview:
Dan LeBatard: Who is
throwing that money up in the air?
Disco Rick: You have ten to 20 girls in each VIP section dancing for one guy who is throwing $30,000; $50,000. Those girls are gonna split the money.
And they don't have to give you a percentage? They get all of it?
C'mon, you know I get mine. (cackles effusively)
Who challenges [Ross]? Who comes in second
place?
Lil Wayne. But Lil Wayne wasn't there
that night. If he had been there it may have been million and a
half.
How does one get a Brink's truck to come
to a place at two o'clock in the morning? Who makes the call?
Corporate does that.
What does that mean?
Corporate makes that call.
