This coming Second Saturday's ridiculous abundance of openings (which the Culture Blog will preview tomorrow morning) is a testament to just how diverse and far-reaching Miami's art community has become. It also highlights how impossible it is now to see everything that's happening--even if you limit yourself to just Wynwood--in one night.

To make it through that gluttonous art-meal, you might have to stretch your stomach a little, and the perfect appetizer is tonight's lecture at Locust Projects (155 NE 38th Street, Suite 100, Design District).

Titled "A Conversation on Curatorial Practice," the event features Trevor Schoonmaker, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, in dialogue with Miami's own Dennis Scholl, prominent collector, founder of World Class Boxing, and lately, of the Knight Foundation.

Get there by 6:30 p.m., but RSVP first to [email protected] or 305-576-8570. The TM Sisters roller rink and synchronized swimming pool will still be set up, too, which should make for an intriguing backdrop.
