Steve Aoki is the DJ equivalent of Shamu. If you're in the first ten rows, you're gonna get splashed.
It used to be that you only had to worry about some sweat and a champagne shower. Of course, though, Aoki's gotta keep raising the ante. So there's a good chance that you front-rowers are gonna get some cake in your face at Grand Central on May 17. And it won't even be your birthday.
But that's not Aoki's only switch-up surprise. Breaking with his standard party plan, the DJ, producer, and Dim Mak boss is leaving South Beach and hitting Downtown Miami to rage with SoFla's teenage ravers.
Why is this happening? Well, anyone who's seen Aoki more than once knows it gets a little repetitive. Hence, the constant ante-upping. Yes, he's going to play his Warp remix. Yes, he's going to blow a load of bubbly during the drop on "Pursuit of Happiness." Yes, he will let you eat cake.
Not to mention, young adults love Aoki. The average 18-year-old can't help admiring a professional food-fighter. And we don't blame them. What's not to love about reckless mess-making?
If we sound bitter, it's not because we don't enjoy the epic show Aoki puts on. We're just jealous that we don't get to throw cake around for a living.
