British DJ-producer Carl Cox hardly needs an introduction anywhere that people get down to electronic beats, lazers and glowsticks. A child of the late-'80s acid house boom and "Second Summer of Love," Cox cut his teeth spinning for the rave generation at seminal UK hotpots like the Haçienda, Fantazia, and Amnesia House.

In the '90s, he expanded his sonic reach through radio waves as a regular on Kiss FM and Radio One's Essential Mix, introducing his big-room techno and hard-house stylings to an international audience.

Today Cox is among the world's most famous DJs, and considering he hasn't played Miami outside of Ultra Music Festival in almost eight years, his upcoming Halloween performance at Mansion is surely one of the most highly-anticipated bookings of the year. If Cox's most recent local DJ set for last year's Ultra fest is anything to go by, Mansion patrons are in for some seriously hard-hitting rave-tastic beats.

Now listen to Carl Cox's 2010 Ultra Music Festival DJ set.

Carl Cox. Sunday, October 31. Mansion. 1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Doors open at 11 p.m. and tickets cost $50 in advance from wantickets.com. Call 305-695-8411 or visit mansionmiami.com.
