Miami rarely ever gets the honor of hosting rare, once-in-a-lifetime events. But next week, if you're smart, you'll be at White Room, Wednesday, May 13, to catch illusive Detroit techno outfit Dopplereffekt, who will be performing live as part of the Scion House Party event. Very little is known about the group except that producer Gerald Donald seems to be the main force behind the group and that albums under the Dopplereffekt name have been released as far back as 1995. Their most well known album is perhaps 1999's Gesamtkunstwerk, which was released via International Deejay Gigolo Records and was more of a compilation of their previously released EPs. Heavy on the German references, its not surprising that their sound is very similar to Kraftwerk.

If the details seem vague, it's because information on the group is hard to come by -- the number of previous interviews available is literally nil. But in case the allure of a mysterious techno group isn't your thing, there are still a couple of big names on the Scion bill including Swedish bloggers/DJs Discobelle and local heavy-on-the-bass bad boys Otto Von Schirach, Danny Daze and Uprokk.

Want to hear the best part? Like all previous Scion events, it's F-R-E-E!

Scion House Party with Dopplereffekt, Discobelle DJs, Otto Von Schirach, Danny Daze and Uprokk at White Room (1306 N Miami Ave., Miami), Wednesday, May 13. Doors open at 10 p.m.; 21+ with ID; free with RSVP at www.scion.com/houseparty.
