In New Jersey, Whitney Houston is spinning in her grave and violently vomiting over her own corpse, filling the oak casket to the brim. This is the posthumous reaction to news that Bobbi Kristina and her "adopted" brother, Nick Gordon, may be having an "incestuous" affair.
According to TMZ, Kristina and Gordon were spotted affectionately holding hands and locking lips. Houston's mom, Cissy Houston, thinks that's just wrong, telling a friend, "What they're doing is incestuous."
To clear the disturbingly uncomfortable air, Gordon is not related to Bobbi Kristina. For the past 10 years, though, he's lived with her at Houston's Atlanta home, building a strong brother-sister bond in the process.
However, despite their sibling-like chemistry, kissing -- even sex -- doesn't break any societal norms. Their apparent relationship may seem odd, but it's not nearly as taboo as the following incestuously musical relationships.
Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach
Heralded as one of the finest German composers of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach could've snagged any Baroque music groupie with the flick of his conducting baton. Instead, he opted for Maria Barbara Bach, his second cousin.
Jerry Lee Lewis and Myra Gale Brown
In 1958, Lewis was set for a European tour. When he arrived at London's Heathrow Airport, reporter Ray Berry, the lone journalist on the tarmac, asked Brown, "Who are you?"
Those three words triggered a publicity nightmare. Not only did the world find out that Lewis' third wife was his first cousin, they also found out she was 13 years old. Lewis was 23. Goodness, gracious, great balls of statutory rape.
John Phillips and Mackenzie Phillips
Mackenzie Phillips opened up about her incestuous, drug-fueled relationship with her father a few years ago in her autobiography, High on Arrival. She was 19 when it started and recalls the first time she and her dad went at it in her book.
"He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father... had this happened before? I didn't know, all I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it. For a moment I was in my body, in that horrible truth, and then I slid back into a blackout."
According to Mackenzie, the relationship lasted for about ten years before fizzling out when Papa Phillips had to pay for an abortion. It must have been the what-the-fuck-am-I-doing moment of the decade.
