We all know that the music industry isn't the same anymore for all of these artists and record labels. And in hip-hop, artists have capitalized on being able to put out free mixtapes to promote their upcoming store-bound projects.

As such, Rick Ross has been preparing his Memorial Day Weekend promotional onslaught for the past couple months. His Teflon Don album is due out July 6, and to whet fans' appetites, he's put out a The Albert Anastasia EP, which really plays more like a mixtape.

For this effort, Rick Ross calls on his industry friends like Sean "Diddy" Combs (on the project's intro), Styles P, Yo Gotti, Birdman, Trey Songz, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Kool G. Rap, and Masspike Miles to contribute to the 13-track disc. Oh, and if you're wondering about the title, it's the name of a mob boss of the New York City's Gambino Crime Family from 1951 to 1957. (Interesting, considering Ross is dealing with a pesky little lawsuit involving famous criminals' names).

The songs featured on here all have a tone that seems unusually dark, especially for Ross. That's mostly due to the work of the contributing producers: Infamous, the Runners, Boi-1nda, and Lex Luger. Ross himself still sounds very southern-influenced here, even throwing in a couple of already-recorded Teflon Don tracks like "Super High" and "Sweet Life."

Overall, this seems like it may be the official mixtape for Miami's Memorial Day Weekend 2010. Don't be surprised to hear it played all over the city within the next couple days. Download it below.
