In an interview with MTV News today, Club Space owner Louis Puig claimed, "The [City of Miami Beach] will not give out weekly permits for pool or beach parties outside of WMC [week], which means that there will not be Pool Parties the week of Ultra. What is Miami without a pool or a beach?"

This could have been the nail in Ultra Music Festival's coffin, considering that day parties make up a lot of the events during the week. Except, it isn't true.

City of Miami Beach director of tourism and cultural development, Max Sklar told New Times over that phone, "No. That's not accurate." He confirmed that all requested permits will be considered.

MTV also spoke with Winter Music Conference founder Bill Kelly, who basically agreed with Puig's email manifesto sent out last night. (No surprise there.)
