Those hurricane parties you were planning? The ones consisting of mindless drinking while waiting for the storm to pass? Well, they pretty much died, along with Tropical Storm Chantal itself.

Now the question remains: What to do with all that stored-up booze money? Spend it on cheap liquor, mosh pits, indie rock, experimental, dance, and Bastille Day parties, of course!

ArtOfficial. With Urban Rebel and DJ Heron. Friday, July 12, 9 p.m., at The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. Admission costs $10 after 10 p.m. Rap, jazz, ska, whatever genre you wanna call this music, ArtOfficial is the only band of its kind in the MIA. As the crew perfectly put it, "[we] ain't no slave to hypocrisy."

Astrea Corp. With Jean Jacket, Mikey R., and Benton G. Friday, July 12, 10 p.m., at Gramps, 176 NW 24th St., Miami; 786-752-6693; grampsbar.com. Free. The "experimental trip-hoppers and wandering neuromancers" of Astrea Corp will take you to "Paradise Oscine" with their trippy tunes. Just make sure to get to Gramps 'round 6 p.m. for the bar's $2 happy hour specials and some wholesome, cheesy goodness from Ms. Cheezious.

Simon Wish. With Camilo Serna, Renato Lopez, Misha, and Adam Solomon. Friday, July 12, 11 p.m., at Therapy Miami, 60 NE 11th St., Miami; clubtherapymiami.com. Tickets cost $10 plus fees via residentadvisor.com. It's hard making plans for the best weekend ever while living on a poor man's budget. Not to worry ... Like a techno genie, Simon Wish will make it happen.

The Coathangers. With the Talking Dogs and Haitian Hillbilly. Saturday, July 13, 9 p.m., at Will Call, 700 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-577-5900; willcallmiami.com. Free. The Coathangers wanna go to the beach! But although Tropical Storm Chantal spared South Florida, the chicks of this indie punk crew will be bringing a "Hurricane" of their own to Miami.

You should be, because you're gonna boogie the night away. Club Boy Miami. With DJs Long X DJ, Will Renuart, Andrew Ward, and Pirate Stereo. Saturday, July 13, 10 p.m., at The Garret at Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-377-2277; grandcentralmiami.com. Free. Boy has been turning musicians into stylin' rock stars since 1976. And now the English are coming and they're celebrating the launch of Club Boy Miami with Will Renuart, Andrew Ward, and other local head-spinners.

Art Walk Afterparty and Bastille Day Celebration. With DJ Skitty and Pelvic Thrust. Saturday, July 13, 7 p.m., at Cafeina, 297 NW Third St., Miami; 305-438-0792; cafeinamiami.com. Admission costs $5. It's the eve of Bastille Day! The French national holiday honors liberty and freedom of oppression. So celebrate with a grande fête featuring bottle specials, French-inspired burlesque performances by Aurora Natrix and her Ritz Glitz Revue, and music by DJ Skitty and Pelvic Thrust. Ohh, la la!

Chocolate makes everything sound better, even Sundays.
