Confession: Oakenfold was this humble reviewer's gateway drug into the world of EDM. I was an innocent freshman in high school and only just discovering the power of the interwebs when I came across a bootleg copy of his live Creamfields album -- and my musical world was never the same. He bended through genres, touching on Balearic beats, house, progressive trance, and Goa trance like nothing I'd ever heard.

Fast forward a whole mess of years and a few Grammy nominations, and Oakenfold's got something big in store for his Miami fans at LIV come November 13. He's going to be circumnavigating the globe on a 50-plus date Facelift tour, and he's bringing some friends.

Australian twin sisters Liv and Mim Nervo (aka NERVO) will be joining him on the decks, but they're also songwriters. They've penned hit singles for the likes of David Guetta, Kylie Minogue, and Armin Van Buuren. But the other guests? They'll be a surprise. So you'll just have to wait and see.

What we can tell you: You can expect a high-end treatment for LIV, as Oakenfold and his tour mates will bring customized lighting and sound, and a giant headset. He'll also be testing out new material that night, showcasing brand new songs for his next album, slated to be released in 2011. But the best part? He's remixed everything from Justin Timberlake and U2 to Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead, so you know he'll probably play something for everyone.

Paul Oakenfold, with NERVO and surprise guests. Saturday, November 13. LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami. Doors open at 10 p.m. and admission TBA. livnightclub.com.
