But when the opportunity to lock down Young Nigga came about, the L.A.-based crew couldn't help but offer the dude a deal. That's right ... OFWGKTA has signed an outsider.

A press release sent out moments ago states: "While our original intent was not to sign anyone to the label we simply could not pass up the opportunity to sign somebody this talented. Young Nigga embodies the DIY ethic and persona of Odd Future along with a commercial appeal that transcends demographics."

Right on, but just who is Young Nigga?

We tried contacting Odd Future's PR reps, but our call was forwarded to an automated voicemail. E-mails? Unreturned.

The only thing we know is that at 3 p.m. Pacific (6 p.m. our time), we'll find out -- along with the rest of the world -- just who Young Nigga is. Odd Future's captain, Tyler the Creator, has confirmed via Twitter that's when new shit's dropping.

We'll keep you updated.

UPDATE:

Young Nigga came through "looking clean" at 6 p.m.

Odd Future's newest member debuted his track, "Come Threw Looking Clean," at oddfuture.com. It's a laid back swag ditty chock full of dadaist lyrics about pasta and diamonds, and shooting a dude in the dick. It sounds like a joke.

We learned that Young Nigga's debut album, Epensive Pasta, is "almost wrapped up," and it's being produced by Tyler the Creator.

Check out swag hop's newest cat, Young Nigga, here.

UPDATE:

It's a joke, yo.
