You’re holding the 2014 Miami New Times Best of Miami issue in your hands right this second. Isn’t it exciting? Does it make you want to dance? Are you inspired to celebrate? If so, New Times is throwing a party just for you. The New Times Best of Miami Release Party at Rusty Pelican (3201 Rickenbacker Cswy., Key Biscayne) will be more than just your average Miami event. This is the time to celebrate the top contenders in Miami’s arts, music, food, sports, shopping, and media scenes. Attendees can toast to the winners with cocktails by Voli and Purity vodkas, Miami Club Rum, Souverain Wine, Zignum Mezcal, and a handful of other booze sponsors (because the best parties never run dry.) Once you’re nice and lubricated, you can test your hand-eye coordination with retro-themed videogames provided by Miami artist 8bitLexicon. Get with the best, or miss out with the rest. The party runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. this Thursday.
