Bust out your favorite tie-dye shirt, dig that flower headband out of your closet, and jam to the best of the ’60s, ’70s at ’80s during the 11th-annual Love-In Party in the Park, presented by Catholic Health Services. A beloved symbol of the hippie era, the daylong music festival will feature performances by Eddie Money, of “Baby Hold On” fame; South Florida’s premier classic rock group, Mr. Nice Guy; and Miami-based cover bands the Mojo Scoundrels and Blackstar. While the music is definitely of the throwback variety, the location is too. A popular site for the peace movement of the ’60s, Greynolds Park (18500 NE 22nd Ave., North Miami Beach) was a meeting place for Miami’s flower children, who would jam out on their guitars, read poetry, and unite in the fight against the Vietnam War. Though times have changed, the positive spirit of the love-in remains the same. Attendees of this year’s event are encouraged to take along their favorite relics of yesteryear to enjoy with the whole family (funky dance moves included). Get groovy this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Visit miamipartyinthepark.com.
