Let the innuendos commence: Romp and race to the finish line. Roll around in the sheets and prepare for a five-way. This Sunday, the Great Bed Race rolls through town once again. Celebrating its fifth year of traffic-halting fun, this Coconut Grove tradition pits five-person teams pushing homemade beds on Bayshore Drive for charity. The teams parade for décor prizes and race against the clock until the fastest eight beds are determined and then battle for the top position. Prizes are awarded for theme, décor, and finish time. A portion of the proceeds will go to Dress for Success Worldwide, which provides clothing, employment retention programs, and ongoing support for women internationally. Tickets for adults cost $5; kids under 12 get in free. For those wanting to kick off the race early, the Pajama Pub Crawl begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Duffy’s Sports Grill (3015 Grand Ave., Coconut Grove). Registration runs from 6 to 8 p.m., with buffet-style food served from 6 to 7. From Duffy’s, participants head to Fat Tuesday, the Grove Sport, Oasis Lounge & Hookah Bar, Mr. Moe’s, and other venues. The bonus tenth stop hits the Bookstore in the Grove, where beer-buzzed travelers can down a quick coffee.
