In his latest novel, The English Girl, Silva combines passion, politics, and spies. The English Girl is most certainly about an English girl, but not just any girl — Madeline Hart. Madeline is into politics, and apparently also the prime minister. When she goes missing, her kidnappers intend to exploit her extramarital affair and use her infamy as advantages. However, one thing the villains do not expect is that Gabriel Allon is on the case. Art restorer and spy extraordinaire, Allon is a fan favorite because his adventures are never dull. Silva will speak about all things English and espionage at Temple Judea (5500 Granada Blvd., Coral Gables) this Monday promptly at 7:30 p.m.
