Despite your best intentions for 2013, all the healthful eating and detox attempts are already getting a little old. The International Chocolate Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Rd., Coral Gables) is a mighty delicious way to do so. The tropical wonderland will become a chocoholic’s dream come true. Scoop up cacao plants to grow at home. Get a mini-massage at the chocolate spa. Inhale the aromas of chocolate-scented orchids. Watch cooking demos for chocolate-and-port-wine-braised short rib and chocolate pizza. Stroll the “Choco-walk” and learn the history of everyone’s favorite sweet. And get one hell of an endorphin boost from a daylong chocolate feast. Even the most rabid fans of the stuff might get their fill at this cocoa mania. All that Fairchild needs is a chocolate waterfall and it would have Willy Wonka beat.
