It’s Saturday night, meaning you’re on day nine of a ten-day Winter Music Conference. You’ve probably already spent most of your life savings on boarding, booze, and event tickets. Wouldn’t it be nice to go to an all-night rager that won’t cost you a fortune? Well, you can’t get any cheaper than free — and, yes, there is a free party to be had during Conference. The annual Fool’s Gold Miami blowout, returning to Grand Central (697 N. Miami Ave., Miami), always brings a good mix of the Brooklyn label’s signed acts, close friends, and surprise guests. This year, Jacques Lu Cont (AKA Stuart Price) will headline. The Englishman’s production services have been helping pop acts such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, the Killers, and Gwen Stefani long before the current EDM-pop craze took over the airwaves. Also on the bill are Just Blaze, Congorock, Treasure Fingers, Style of Eye, LA Riots, Flosstradamus, and plenty of others. And if we learned anything from past experiences, big marquee acts tend to pop in to say hello behind the turntables. Did we mention it’s free? Simply email [email protected], but you have to be old enough to drink. Doors open at 10 p.m., and we highly recommend you get there early because RSVPing doesn’t guarantee admission.
