What do Euro Disneyland, the film The Cutting Edge, and Jeffrey Dahmer’s life sentence have in common? (Besides the tragedy of their existence, of course.) Each of them turned 20 years old this year. Yup, it was 1992 when Disney poured a fortune into an ill-conceived Paris theme park, we learned how to do tequila shots from Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney, and Dahmer was put away for good. If it doesn’t seem like it’s been two full decades since any of those things happened, you’re not alone. Twenty years? That’s whack, yo. Luckily, the Vagabond (30 NE 14th St., Miami) is bringing back the days of Nick at Nite and Nevermind this Sunday with its second annual ’90s Homecoming. Last year, the inaugural sister scene to the Vagabond’s ’80s Prom greeted nostalgic party people with slap bracelets and Airheads candies at the bar, alt-rock classics in the lounge, and beats on the dance floor that one might describe as “jazzy fresh.” Naturally, most folks came dressed in classic ’90s style: Doc Martens, sunflower prints, and yes, flannel. (Where do you even find flannel here in the tropics?) In short, ’90s Homecoming is all that and a bag of chips.
