In 1992, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder pulled Selene Vigil, lead singer of grunge band 7 Year Bitch, from the water after she drunkenly slipped off a dock. If this small tidbit excites you, you're the prime demographic for Pearl Jam Twenty, a Cameron Crowe rockumentary about the Seattle band. In 1990 (yes, that was really 21 years ago), the group added a soundtrack to all of our flannel shirts and combat boots with its first album, Ten. The single "Jeremy" became as classic in our Generation X noggins as Vedder's flamboyant stage dives. After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, Pearl Jam Twenty will have a one-night-only screening in Miami this Tuesday at the Tower Theater. Crowe, the madman behind Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Say Anything, Almost Famous, and Singles, sorted through more than 1,200 hours of footage from the Pearl Jam vaults. From what we've seen so far, the highlight is a weird interview including David Lynch and Vedder. The air around them just about explodes with awkwardness. The film will have an additional screening at 9:15 p.m. and will sell out fast.
