Whether you first spied the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, stumbled upon your parents’ copy of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, or just play a lot of Guitar Hero, you can grasp the greatness that is John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Decades later, these four British cats continue to inspire generations, setting the standard for every mop-topped garage ensemble. They’ve also spawned plenty of tribute bands, such as Rain, which came together in Southern California in the mid-’70s. Rain’s traveling time warp through Beatles history hits Miami this Friday at 8 p.m. It’s a multimedia show with historical footage, including twee ’60s TV commercials projected behind the “Hey Jude”-ing band. The Fab Faux prides itself on the fact that every song covered is delivered the same way the Fab Four would’ve done it. But each unscripted show runs about two hours 20 minutes with an intermission, which is significantly longer than any actual Beatles show. If you’ve been saving your money for a rainy day, the weekend forecast at the Arsht Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House predicts Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles through Sunday. Tickets cost $25 to $69.
