If Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots consummated their mutual passion for authentic rock and roll, the result would be the bastard love child known as Velvet Revolver. The supergroup joins Hoobastank at the Sound Advice Amphitheater at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25. Tickets range from $24 to $54.50 and go on sale at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12.

Either they have savvy marketing practices or people just can't get enough of U2, but it always seems like they end up adding dates to their tours. They did it last time they rolled through our neck of the woods, and now they've added 33 more dates to the Vertigo 2005 tour. Ireland's favorites sons will take over the American Airlines Arena at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, November 13. Tickets range from $49.50 to $160 and go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19.

This isn't exactly a music event, but then again, it kinda is, too. Vice promoter and DJ Lauren Lolo Reskins Sweat Records, a new shop located at 2320 NE Second Avenue, is throwing a grand opening/indie jam with performances by Otto von Schirach, Seven Star, and the Remnants, along with the Vice DJs rockin' the decks. It all goes down at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12.
