When Spanish nightclub Pacha opened on the outskirts of Barcelona in 1967, few anticipated it would become a global powerhouse. A few years later, the club brand planted seeds in Ibiza, cementing its fate as a dance mecca. Where does a nightlife company go after that? All over the world, of course. Pacha clubs now span four continents and every legitimate dance capital — except Miami. For years, rumors swirled that the group would open a club in the Magic City. But except for the obligatory Winter Music Conference appearances, it hasn’t happened. But Miami, with its already phenomenal array of nightlife, doesn’t need another club. Pacha may have realized this, because its legendary Flower Power party is taking over the swanky environs at LIV this weekend only. The party dates back to the ’80s when Piti Urgell, brother of Pacha founder Ricardo Urgell, sought to bring back summers of love in Ibiza. The party debuts in the U.S. at LIV this Saturday, and Piti will be on deck spinning music for all the flower children.
