Throughout history, music has transcended political, religious, and cultural lines to unite even the most ardent of enemies. Remember the Juanes concert in Cuba last year? Well, since the end of the Cold War, we’re no longer enemies with Russia (frenemies maybe). But even if we were, we would still want to see the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, live at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall. This Monday at 8 p.m., you can witness not only the MSSO, one of the world’s most renowned orchestras in its 67th season, but also violin phenom and Grammy nominee Jennifer Koh ripping the fiddle to shreds. Koh will play Bruch’s First Violin Concerto, and the MSSO will perform Ravel’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
Mon., Nov. 15, 8 p.m., 2010
