For the price of one unscratched Lucky 7s lottery ticket (a buck), you can enter Purple Sabbath. Hand the ticket to the doorman, step into the Firefly, check out the artwork, and enjoy the live music. Beginning at 7:00 tonight, the collection of lottery tickets will be transferred to the performance area, scratched off, announced, and documented in front of the audience. After the last ticket is scratched, the results will be calculated and the winnings will be distributed equally among all participants. Sort of like a communist lotto. Purple Sabbath became the working title as we discussed ideas which focused on the number seven, because of the date. We agreed on Lucky 7s scratch-offs as the admission ticket, and Seagrams 7 with 7-Up as the drink, says event organizer EJ.
Alfred B. Bea, communications manager of the Florida Lottery, says, The Florida Lotto is about having fun. We think that this event is a great idea. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.; early arrival is recommended.
