Unlike New Year’s (which is fundamentally about drinking) or Christmas (which is about either marketing or Jesus, depending on who you ask), Thanksgiving is definitely a holiday for eating. So what better way to spend this morning than working up a healthy appetite – and burning off a few hundred calories? The annual Turkey Trot, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and Miami-Dade Parks, takes place today at Tropical Park (7900 Bird Rd., Miami) and includes a 5K and a 10K race for all ages. The starting gun fires at 7:30 a.m., but registration begins at 6:00 a.m. Entry fees range from $25 to $30; save $5 if you register in advance. Call 305-278-8668, or visit www.active.com.
