Hanukkah is just a minor Jewish holiday elevated to major status by consumerist American culture, but hey, its still a lot of fun. Whether you are Jewish or not, you can celebrate the sixth day of Hanukkah by joining The Feldman Dynamic at Camposition Studio tonight at 8 for Hanukkah in Little Havanaka. Its extreme reality theater, called wacky and strangely moving, has been performed at New Yorks Fringe Festival. Watch the Feldmans, an actual family, eat dinner, light a menorah, and work out unscripted personal drama each night through December 11. Tickets cost $25, which includes a festive dessert. Reservations are recommended; call 786-399-7375.
For a spiritual journey, try Rhythm & Jews: A Day of Drumming, Dancing & Discovery presented by TAO - The South Florida Center for Jewish Renewal today at the Sheraton Suites Hotel (555 NW 62nd St., Fort Lauderdale). Dont call this one-day conference new-age, because its all based on ancient rituals and wisdom with roots in Torah, Kabbalah, and Eastern traditions. Organizers say the mystical and musical program of speakers, yoga, and live music will help you vibrate higher. Sounds groovy. Doors open this morning at 10. Adult tickets cost $68, children $36.
