The Cleveland Orchestra loves Miami. Why? Probably because it's from Cleveland. If you had a chance to defect from the land of freezing snow, furry hats with ear flaps, rising rivers, and Drew Carey fans for Miami's subtropical climate, wouldn't you? It’s hardly any wonder the acclaimed Cleveland Orchestra signed a 10-year deal to not only perform concerts at the Knight Concert Hall but also conduct educational activities for musically minded members of the public.

Tonight and tomorrow night at 8, guest conductor Giancarlo Guerrero will lead our newly snagged cultural organization's performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto” with world-renowned solo violinist Midori. The program also includes Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and Roberto Sierra’s “Fandangos.” Preconcert conversations begin an hour before the show. Tonight’s cost of admission is $39; tickets are available at the box office. You can also tune to WKCP-FM (89.7) Saturday to hear a live simulcast of the performance. Call 305-949-6722 for more info.
Fri., March 28, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 29, 8 p.m., 2008
