Twenty years after breaking up eclectic rock trio The Police, Sting is hotter than ever. Credit his new album Sacred Love, where his delicate exchange with Mary J. Blige almost allows people to forget other unfortunate duets, e.g. backing up P. Diddy. Also credit Broken Music, his autobiography detailing how deeply affected he was after discovering his mother was having an extramarital affair. That memory and his incredible abilities as a Tantric lover were the gist of a long interview Oprah Winfrey recently dedicated to the 52-year-old father of 6 and his wife Trudy. A few weeks ago, the MusiCares Foundation declared him Person of the Year. To top it all off, the pioneer metrosexual's music will be included on the upcoming Queer Eye for the Straight Guy soundtrack. In the meantime he'll debut a new world tour at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow at the James L. Knight Center, 400 SE 2nd Ave. Tickets range from $47 to $87. Call 305-372-4633. -- By Javier Andrade

Punk's peeps peep

FRI 1/23

Smacking O-town like a pasty and G-string-clad tsunami, the Suicide Girls Burlesque Show has arrived. Armed with a self-destructive moniker and a '50s pinup aesthetic, the dancers -- Siren, Snow, Violet, Tegan, Brandy, and Stormy -- promise to extend the recent renaissance of this once-forgotten art form. The girls will gyrate to an accompanying soundtrack of contemporary music featuring, among other flavors of tunage, punk rock. These chicas intend to send a message of sexual empowerment by twirling tassels on their titties. The performers hope that the transcendence of tease into art will create an alternative to the Hugh Hefnerian fembot. SG's spokesperson says their Website gets more hits from women than men. Go figure. Tassels pasted on at 10:00 p.m. at I/O, 30 NE 14th St. Tickets cost $12. See www.epoplife.com or www.suicidegirls.com. -- By Victor Cruz

Maestro of Misery

THU 1/22

Gotta love a comedian who dares to pair a Nehru jacket (just like his idol Lenny Bruce, who sported one too) with Puma high tops. Gotta love a comedian who called his autobiographical book The OTHER Great Depression. Gotta love a comedian who singlehandedly popularized the tagline "from hell" and named his CD Live from Hell (Before and After). That funnyman is Richard Lewis (above), neurotic extraordinaire and star of the stand-up stage and the small screen, counting stints on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seventh Heaven, 2 1/2 Men, and a title role on the long-lamented Anything but Love. Lewis brings his therapy-fueled shtick to the Miami Improv (3390 Mary St., Coconut Grove) through Sunday. Tickets range from $20 to $25. Call 305-441-8200. -- By Nina Korman
