On Saturday, Shine reprises last year's successful Bliss party reunion for the pleasure of progressive-house fans, both old-school and new. For three years until 2000, the last Friday of the month was penciled in on the calendars of the hip (and not necessarily rich) with the reminder to get to Groove Jet. On those nights, UK-based DJ Dave Seaman, along with Miami's Jon Cowan and Luis Diaz, helped acquaint local and visiting clubgoers with the then-new sounds of the progressive, melodic house that was exploding in the UK. Two-thirds of the trio return this year, with DJ Mick Wilson (Parks & Wilson, Tilt Productions) ably subbing in for Diaz.

Seaman makes his first visit to Miami since March, when he and Nick Warren sold out Shine during Winter Music Conference. Like fellow countrymen John Digweed and Sasha, Seaman is known as a pioneer of the prog-house subgenre, having soldiered through the days when New York house and breaks DJs ruled the dance scene. The rest, of course, is history.
