Nothings Shocking Anymore

Marilyn Mansons dame games may make the most
headlines, but the fact of the matter remains that the cat and his cronies
continue to concoct some of the most muscular music imaginable. Smart,
too -- even if the keen does tend to veer toward gore and gruesome.
Mansons latest long-player,
Eat Me Drink Me, is, of course, exceptionally no exception, though this time the gore gets a melodic makeover, and the hard heart for which hes known gets tatted on his natty sleeve. Whether you credit this figurative new leaf to his ditching Dita Von Teese or his hooking up with Evan Rachel Wood really depends on which side of the aisle you sat on during his and the burlesque queens big Irish wedding. But no one listens to Manson for the backstory no one sane enough to dig the mans by-now-patented brand of insanity, anyway. No, Manson is dug because of the stir and the smack and the sturm and the drang -- in other words: what he does to the deep of our soul. Theres no better way to experience this than up close and personal. Tonight, as the man and his merry band take the stage at the Fillmore, youre gonna get your chance to do just that.
